Main Studs
So I'm building a N/A engine and have heard many times that the "girdle' is unneccesary at the power levels achieved by N/A builds including theories about HP robbery as it complicates a proper crank scraper, etc. Unfortunately I can't find anyone that sells SR16VE main cap bolt sets. I have looked for a main stud kit for VE to no avail. I am thinking that there has to be a Honda or Mitsubishi that uses similarly sized 11mm main bearing bolts that I can use in this build. Any thoughts or experience here?

I'd be inclined to just chop down the stock hardware. No big deal. Make sure to get that raw edge finished up properly.
If that seems like you'd not be left with enough threads, then use some spacers in place of the girdle, or chop up the girdle to create spacers?

Then again, I'd be inclined to keep the girdle in.

Are you just needing the bolts? You know you dont need to use ve main caps to not have a girdle correct?

All you should need to do is ditch the girdle and get some SR20VE main bolts and call it a day. GregV can supply you with those bolts.

LOL, Why people complicate things is beyond me. Just like when taking a VE motor and adding a girdle to it. You dont need to use de/det main caps. They are all the same. Girdle bolts right on all you need is the longer DE/DET/GTIR main bolts and DE oil pans and call it a day.

Right, aware that I don't need to use the VE caps. Seemed that I PM'd Greg a while back and he said that he didn't carry the VE main bolts but I can't find that message now so I may be mistaken. I'll try him again on the subject. Thanks.

Custom dry-sump oil pan causes problem with using the cradle.

Got ya. Greg should be able to get the bolts. I believe the RR motor doesnt have a girdle either and basicly uses the same bottom end the VE does. Correct me if Im wrong but pretty sure this is the case.
