I would rather do the Z32 swap and redrill the rotors for 4 lug than spend that much money on stock calipers?

My brother needs new brakes on his 240 and I'm trying to come up with a budget solution for him.

Blair, Z32 brakes are cheaper and better than that. $350-400 for junkyard calipers, pads, rotors, and brake lines. Just buy a couple of rebuild kits and a used m/c and he will be good to go.

So basically that only adds caliper mass, not brake pad surface area, which would help dissipate the heat better but not apply any more braking force.

I'm with the other guys on Z32 stuff. Most people going this route have not had trouble, but some have seen poor quality in the JY/rebuild option and reman option. Not sure how much they cost new, but it's probably more economical to buy aftermarket than new OE.

Z32 brakes would definitely be cheaper from a junkyard or a CL add or something

im planning a z32upgrade after my coupe is swapped over to 5lug(whick shouldnt be much longer), IMO getting stock replacement parts is cheaper that having to buy fastbrakes disc or just having to redrill rotors for a 4lug set up

OEM=FTW

and just out of curosity why are u staying 4lug

Budget Solution would be Q45 brakes then. $735 for brakes that you can get for half of that isnt a budget solution to me?
