My SR swap
Yo I just recently bought an SR from jdm miami and it should be here within a week or so. Since this is my first swap I just wanted to get some advice on what parts to get, what is a gimmick and basically the opinions of you guyz. Ive been on enjuku and scoped out their fmic kit from isis but i heard isis isnt a good brand but i dont know how true that is. My power goals are about tha 300-350ish range as much as i can make reliably and cost effectively without touching tha bottom end for rite now. I just want a well balanced ride thats quick and handles well. I would like to do as much as I can to tha motor before i put it in tha car.

so far i know i need:

fmic kit (some dont include the hotpipe)
BOV
Downpipe
Clutch & flywheel (dont need it but i would like to change those b4 da motor is in)
Walbro Fuel Pump
Some sort of intake kit
Boost Gauge
wideband
Electric Fans (since Im goin to get a koyo)
Radiator Hoses
Full 3in exhaust (ill use a test pipe to eliminate tha cat since i live tha USVI and theres no emissions)
engine and tranny mounts
thats all I can think of rite now

and btw I have $2500 to work with so any input would be greatly appreciated

I don't know if you if you really need the mounts, it really depends on what kind of condition yours are in. I would rock the ISIS fmic, no need to pay for greddy and the like (I have a greddy myself and you can do much better than thier tube/fin design).

Wideband is nice, but if you are running a stock ecu, its pointless since you can't change anything anyway.

That's a decent list. Isis seems to be an OK brand for the money. You might look into the Greddy M-spec front mount also, it's less expensive.

You'll need to have the harness modified to work with the car. Also be sure to recirculate the BOV back into the intake between the MAF and the turbo inlet.

I would not go for your power goals off the bat. Get used to the car with the power it'll have out of the box. T25 on wastegate boost (7-8 psi) should get you around 200 at the wheels with the big front mount and 3" exhaust. 300-350 is a lot in a car as light as an S13 can be. It's also approaching the limits of the stock headgasket, so reliability might be compromised. It's hard to know with a used engine, unless you tear the engine down and build it before installing it in the car.

Greddy interfooler is not worth the money. And don't worry about stock headgaskets. I've pushed nearly 500whp on a COMPLETELY stock SR20.

Id recommend getting nismo mounts. I just put them on with my swap and imo its a major upgrade. Ive heard that the hockey puck style mounts are stiffer and you feel the vibration a lot more. As for the Koyo, look into Mishimoto radiators... their setup includes dual fans which come mounted already and I believe are cheaper.

If you go to nicoclub.com under the advertisers marketplace in the forums they have a lot of good sales. (ex: Walboro kit for $89)

those are really ur basic parts you need, while koyo is a great product and i have one and recomend it, i feel that unless you REALLY feel the need to get one becuase the stock radiator isnt being efficent enough, dont bother they are great but alot of money and its unneeded if you dont TRULY need it. the sr motors are efficent, start with your basic part list and add from there only what you truly need ,this will save you money. 2500 in the right parts cna net you great ammount of power

I would not get electric fans. A clutch fan with shroud is more efficient and looks cleaner anyway.

I run a Koyo with a clutch fan and shroud by the way.

electric fans are good if you are trying to save space though
