Thread: auto sr20 problem?

Anyone have experience with auto sr20's? Seems like mine is slipping, engine sounds powerfull still, but feels like she just doesnt want to move, then i get on gas more,she finally down shifts and its like someone kicked her in the ass. Have a feeling its the tranny, but i put in new ngk plugs, and found ngk wires (their on factory order right now) but luckily rock auto had a few sets left. Never really had a automatic car before, i know i need to do my axels, but it does not feel like its the motor. But then ive barley been sleeping and out of my fucking mind right now. This car has always been peppy for being a auto, it out runs my g20 majorly, but not right now.

I've had a B13 and a B14 with an auto tragic.The B13 tranny took a dump in the same manner you are describing.I'm not trying to bum you out,but the symptoms were the same.Had to replace the valve body inside the tranny,plus labor and associated bits along the way.It was more expensive than the car,and that was 15 years ago If that's what it is,find another auto and just swap it.Seems like there was some sort of adjustment of something,but that was a long time ago,and it wouldn't help here.It felt like nothing was happening,then someone rear ended you at 30 mph,and you took off.Can't think of anything good to say here,dude.

What i figured, thanks for reconfirming me bucky. Guess i need to find a auto g20 and get that tranny, hopefully a older tranny woudl work LOL. Wonder if all trannies are interchangable for autos to..hmm

Dan don't forget the B15 came with an SR and auto tranny, atleast it would be newer and possibly lower miles. On a side note have you tried in a last ditch effort to change the tranny filter and fluid? Add some Lucas oil tranny oil.

^ What im going to do next, totally brain farted on the b15, just thsoe se models are a pain to find around here. Got some fluid, just need a filter for it, but my luck wont do shit.

Ouch...i can get at the yard for a 1/4 of that lol.

So finally got the dipstick un stuck, turns out i had barley any fluid. Filled it up, seems to be driving better.Apparently nissan never told me the fluid was low, or bothered checking at every damn oil change. Hopefully no bad damage done to the tranny.

Check your axel seals for leaks.

I replaced the fuel filter, and pump today...still hesitating....So that makes a full tune up, plusfluid change and still hesitating at times. So maybe clogged injectors, its just so freaking random that it happens.
